Product Description
GW-USMicroN is a IEEE802.11n USB adapter. It is the smallest USB adapter of its kind in the world, with the size of approximately 16.00mm(W) x 8.0mm(H) x 33.5(D).(Researched by Planex) It provides an access speed of 150Mbps with IEEE802.11n Draft2.0 protocol. It is also officially recommended by Xlink Kai, which is a software that allows PSP or Nintendo DS users to play online games all over the world. GW-USMicroN has a WPS button that provides easy wireless LAN set up by clicking the utility of a PC and pushing the button of a wireless router. Even a first time wireless LAN user can set it up very easily.Similar Products

I INSTALLED IT INSIDE OF A NETBOOK AND THE SIGNAL IS NOT THE BEST. I MODED A NETBOOK INTO A MAC AND NEEDED WI-FI THAT WOULD WORK WITH MAC. THE SOFTWARE IS EASY ENOUGH BUT IT DOES HAVE SINGLE PROBLEMS. IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE I CUT MY MOTHER BOARD TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR IT TO FIT INSIDE THE ENCLOSURE. OR IT COULD BE THE FACT THAT THE SINGLE HAS TO TRAVEL THREW THE MOTHERBOARD OR THE SSD AND I BENT TO MAKE ADDITIONAL ROOM. ( I DO KNOW WHAT I AM DOING) IT DOES WORK THOUGH SO I GAVE IT 4 STARS.

I bought this wifi adapter because it was advertised to be compatible with Mac OS 10.5. On my MacBook the adapter caused system crashes repeatedly and was therefore unusable. I e-mailed the PLANEX support about the issue but I never got a response. In sum: If you are running Leopard on a Mac, I wouldn't buy this adapter.

I have a single channel Airport Express Base Station operating on the 5Ghz 802.11n spectrum. I recently purchased a cheap 802.11g netbook and the gw-usmicron 802.11n in the hope I could connect to my AEBS at 5Ghz. Unfortunately this device only works at 2.4Ghz, which is really crowded in my apartment. For now I've switched my AEBS to 2.4Ghz, and this product is working just fine, but my network has slowed terribly as a result, so will be sending it back and searching for another solution.

I couldn't imagine a device this tiny would work so well as a wireless adapter. It does!! Follow instructions on installation. If using encryption, save your setup in a profile so you don't have to enter the encryption code each time.
Once installed, you forget that this device is running. I use it with my Cisco WRT160N V2 router, so I am running at "N" speeds. Link speed shows 65 mbps on transmit and 117 mbps on receive. This is displayed with the very nice utility that comes with this device.
The price for this is almost a giveaway for what you get. I would buy this again. As a matter of fact, I also own the GW-US300MiniS by the same company.

I have to say that I was a bit skeptical considering that not all Planex Wifi Adapters work well for Xlink Kai. But I bit the bullet considering that I really love Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and wanted more than one way to get online, especially since I can't lug my PS3 everywhere for adhoc party.
My only suggestion is that you download the latest drivers from planex's website and then if you're going to use Xlink Kai, get the latest kai drivers and overwrite the original drivers with them. Only works for Kai in Windows XP 32bit and Vista 32bit btw, so good luck if you have a 64 bit os.
